Do we know what we're doing here?

This is my first attempt at this "Blogging Thing" and I really hope this works out. But if it doesn't...what the hell. I seem to be at a pivotal place in my life when I ask the question, what's next? You see I'm a 54 year old teacher facing his last year before retirement. You may say to yourself, "What's this guy whining about? Many people would give their first born to be in such an enviable position!" That may be true, but I've been doing this job since I was 23 years old. That's over 30 years! My marriage isn't as long as that. My stint at being a father certainly isn't as long as that either. So you see, nothing I've done longer in my life than to teach. It's time to explore new avenues to stroll down. To look back at we're I've been and to try to find out we're I'm headed.
I hope to explore my interests by sharing them with anyone who'll care to read them. If no one reads them, why that's ok also. You see I'd like to travel down those avenues and find out more about myself. I hope it's a long trek. Who knows? It may be a trip that lasts more than 30 years. I hope it does. A Journey, a trek, the destination? Who knows?
My name is Davis. The name of my blog is...Miles of Davis

It is not an end but a beginning. All ends are beginnings--WOW de ja vue. There is a whole new world and life awaiting you out there, like the sage Richard Brautigan said, "It's like Christopher Colombus taking off his shoes." Sure this is the longest thing you've done so far, but life is the journey , not the beginning nor end. Though the stage may change, the performance continues. Use you jorney to enrich the visions yet to come.
